Description

Purpose of the Visit:

As part of our geography and PSHE curriculum, the Year 3 and 4  will be taking part in a Local Area Walk, in Fair Oak. This trip is designed to help the children develop their understanding of the community they live in. They will have the opportunity to observe different types of buildings, local landmarks, and land use, as well as consider how people work, travel and spend time in the area. This short, supervised visit provides valuable real-world learning to complement classroom work, while also promoting curiosity, safety awareness and respectful behaviour in the community.

Activities Include:

  • The walk also supports map-reading and fieldwork skills, encouraging pupils to use directional language and make observations about their surroundings. In addition, it helps build a sense of belonging and appreciation for the local environment.
