Step Back in Time: World War II Trip for Year 5 & 6!
This trip directly links to our current topic on World War II, giving pupils the chance to explore real artefacts, hear fascinating stories and gain a deeper understanding of this pivotal period in history.
What Your Child Will Experience
Throughout the day, pupils will take part in a variety of engaging workshops that will help them:
- Explore authentic military collections – seeing real objects from the war and understanding their significance
 - Deepen their historical knowledge – connecting classroom learning with real-world evidence and experiences
 - Develop enquiry skills – asking questions, examining sources, and thinking critically about the past
 - Engage with expert-led activities – participating in hands-on sessions designed specifically for their age group
 
Practical Details
- When: Thursday 13th November
 - Departure: 9:20am from school
 - Return: In time for normal school finish
 - Travel: By coach
 - What to wear: Normal, smart school uniform
 
What to Bring
- Packed lunch (no glass bottles or nuts, please)
 - Water bottle
 - Coat suitable for the weather (we’ll be moving between indoor and outdoor spaces)
